Dr. John Ekure is multifaceted, embodying the roles of entrepreneur, orthopedic surgeon, environmentalist, philanthropist, motivational speaker, and educationist. As the Director and founder of Kumi Orthopaedic Center, he brings a compassionate and committed approach to his work, demonstrating extensive expertise in orthopedic trauma and arthroplasty surgery.
Dr. Ekure operates with the utmost ethical standards and exceptional organizational skills, leading a team of surgeons and providing guidance to ensure superior patient care. His dedication extends beyond the operating room, as he actively trains and mentors medical professionals in Uganda, Africa, and South East Asia.
Recognized for his problem-solving skills, Dr. Ekure has contributed significantly to the field, earning prestigious awards such as the Bainbridge Prize for his scientific paper on Gluteal fibrosis. He also serves on the Advisory Council of the Institute of Global Orthopaedic and Traumatology at the University of California, San Francisco.
Beyond his medical accomplishments, Dr. Ekure is deeply involved in environmental initiatives. As a Board Member of the National Environment Management Authority, he has played a pivotal role in enhancing institutional functioning and advocating for sound environmental practices. As a philanthropist, Dr. Ekure is a member of Lions Clubs International, where he has served in various capacities, including as the President of Lions Club Kumi Central.
